The new Jeep Cherokee will be offered in the Longitude, Limited and Overland trim levels and will arrive in Jeep showrooms across Europe from September 2018,). The new Cherokee line-up will be completed next year with the introduction of the Sport and the unstoppable Trailhawk models.

      Authentic Jeep design
The exterior of the new Jeep Cherokee has been refreshed to deliver a new, modern appearance and distinguished look that remains true to Jeep's iconic style while projecting the model's premium personality. The new exterior design features a new fascia, standard full LED headlamps, daylight running lamps (DRL) and fog lamps surrounded by bright trim details. The signature 'waterfall' hood has a new lightweight aluminum structure and is separate from the front fenders, further contributing to the Cherokee's distinctive look.
Similarly, a new contemporary appearance highlights the new Jeep Cherokee's rear profile with re-sculpted design cues, creating a more harmonic flow to the rear of the vehicle. The model's tail lamps remain an integral part of the rear backlight graphic, which includes a thin homogenous LED light strip that wraps around the individual stop and turn tail lamps. Meanwhile, a new and redesigned lightweight composite liftgate includes an integrated light bar with release handle repositioned higher for added customer convenience. Additionally, the available hands-free liftgate is operated by making a kicking motion under the bumper to open.
Customers will also appreciate the new fuel door and capless fuel fill.
Finally, the new Cherokee will continue to offer the pleasure of the open-air driving experience with the optional CommandView dual-pane power sunroof, which extends from the windshield to the rear of the vehicle and is available as an option.
The standard Jeep Cherokee line-up offers five new wheel options including a 19-inch premium polished aluminum wheel on Overland models.

Consumers will also have their choice of 10 different exterior colors: Bright White, Diamond Black, Velvet Red, Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Light Brownstone, Firecracker Red, Hydro Blue (the last two exclusive for the Cherokee Trailhawk), and two all-new colors - Olive Green and Pearl White.
The updated interior of Jeep Cherokee receives fresh and elegant touches while increasing comfort and functionality thanks to clever storage and new technology. All interiors are characterised by stylish design, hand-sculpted forms, new high-quality materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Drivers and passengers will immediately notice the refined and elegant features such as the stylish Piano Black and Satin Chrome finish on the radio, climate control vents and gear shifter bezels, creating a tailored and harmonious look. The electric park brake button has also been enclosed around the centre shifter bezel for ease of operation. Integrated shifter controls are fitted on the steering wheel on all models equipped with the nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive powertrains.
The reconfigurable instrument cluster features a thin-film transistor (TFT) LED 3.5-inch grayscale or 7-inch full-colour display. The 7-inch colour display shows information that the driver can easily configure - including turn-by-turn navigation, speed, real-time fuel economy, safety warnings, Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus, audio information and Jeep-specific features, such as the Selec-Terrain system.
The centre console has been re-designed to create additional space with the enlargement of the front storage pocket, perfect for placing mobile smart phones and other devices next to the integral USB port for easy access to connected services. The rear cargo capacity has also been increased by up to 70 litres, taking the total cargo capacity to a maximum of 570 litres (up to the tonneau cover), and offering additional, convenient storage space to easily accommodate gear for everyday adventures.

      Advanced engine offering
The engine line-up of the new Jeep Cherokee has been expanded and features different options to satisfy customer needs and preferences.
At its heart, the 2.2-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel featuring Stop/Start (ESS) technology offers incredible flexibility and all-round performance. When paired with the six-speed manual transmission it delivers 150 hp of power, 350 Nm of torque and is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations. When mated with the nine-speed automatic transmission it produces 195 hp, 450 Nm of torque and is available in the 4x4 configuration (with 4WD LOW two-speed PTU available as an option) and - for the first time on Cherokee - also in the 4x2 configuration.
The architecture of the 2.2-litre MultiJet II four-cylinder engine includes a specific 16 valve twin camshaft aluminum head designed to withstand the increased working pressure of the common rail with Injection Rate Shaping, which operates at 2000 bar. The design of the pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft, is optimised to reduce weight.
The shape of the combustion chamber and the reduced compression ratio guarantee low NOx emissions and high performance, while the solenoid injectors atomise the fuel very finely for greater fuel efficiency and a quieter drive
The engine features a novel variable geometry turbocharger integrated in the exhaust manifold. This reduces engine weight and improves the functionality of the exhaust gas treatment system 'SCR on filter'. This is a solution that integrates the Selective Catalyst Reduction functionality over a DPF substrate, in order to promote NOx reduction through ADblue injection (the underfloor passive SCR manages ammonia slip, continuing the reduction process), and Particulate Matter reduction through regeneration management.
The 2.2-litre engine is Euro 6D-Temp standard compliant.
The new 2.0-litre direct-injection in-line four-cylinder turbo engine, which delivers estimated 270 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque, and is paired with the nine-speed automatic transmission, will be available in Europe only from the first quarter of 2019. Fitted with Stop/Start (ESS) technology, this new petrol engine ensures fuel-efficiency and performance, and will be offered on 4x4 models.
The 3.2-litre Pentastar V-6 and the 2.4-litre Tigershark I4 MultiAir2, are available exclusively in specific markets outside Europe. The 3.2-litre Pentastar V-6 delivers 272 hp, 324 Nm of torque and is offered only in the Middle East, Russia and Africa, while the 2.4-litre Tigershark I4 MultiAir 2 produces 177 hp and 230 Nm of torque and is offered on the African and Russian markets.
Jeep Cherokee engines can be paired with the upgraded nine-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The upgraded nine-speed transmission uses new control software to further refine drivability, ensure aggressive launches, smooth power delivery at highway speeds and improve fuel efficiency. And for the first time ever on Cherokee, the model can feature a manual mode with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel for additional sportiness and driving comfort (this feature is standard on all automatic all-wheel drive versions).

      Superior on-road performance
Front independent suspension with McPherson struts and a rear independent multi-link suspension absorb on-road and off-road obstacles while providing superb comfort for vehicle occupants. The front suspension provides 17 cm (6.7 inches) of travel, while the rear suspension has 19 cm (7.8 inches) of travel for better articulation. Isolated rear cradle, high-strength, low-alloy front crossmembers and superior torsional rigidity all contribute to a smoother and quieter ride and to the superior handling of the new Cherokee.

      Unmatched Jeep 4x4 capability
Available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the new Cherokee offers a choice of three innovative 4x4 systems which have been enhanced for unmatched 4x4 capability in all weather conditions.
Jeep Active Drive I: This system has been entirely redesigned. Jeep engineers set out to reduce weight and enhance efficiency of the next-generation Rear Drive Module (RDM), which is fully automatic and delivers seamless operation in and out of four-wheel drive at any speed. This results in reduced weight of about 8 kilograms and a reduction of low-speed system drag torque by half for fuel savings. Jeep Active Drive I, which does not require any driver intervention or feedback, delivers correction to ensure vehicle stability and improves response during both understeer and oversteer conditions.
Active Drive I is a full-time four-wheel drive system that does not require any driver input. Under normal conditions, it sends all available torque to the front wheels while monitoring the speed of the front and rear axles. If the system detects that the front axle is moving faster than the rear axle it will send power through the power transfer unit to the rear axle until speeds are equally distributed, delivering an easy to-use all-weather boost in capability.
Jeep Active Drive II: Active Drive II includes all of the features of Active Drive I but adds, thanks to a two-speed PTU, a selectable 4WD low gear range mode with 2.91:1 gear reduction that allows for enhanced climbing ability, as well as outstanding crawl ratios in severe off-road conditions.
This system also includes Hill-descent Control, which allows the Cherokee to provide controlled hill descent in rough terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal.
Jeep Active Drive Lock: Jeep Active Drive Lock includes all the features of Jeep Active Drive II and adds a locking rear differential for superior traction in low range gears to overcome obstacles and for extreme off-roading. This system is equipped only on the Trailhawk models, which will be available at launch only in markets outside Europe. In European markets, the Trailhawk trim will be offered from the first quarter of 2019. Jeep Active Drive Lock also includes Selec-Speed Control - a feature that enables a driver-selectable target speed, ranging from 1 km/h to 9 km/h, ideal for climbing rocks, descending/crawling extreme grades, or navigating streams.
Selec-Terrain: All Cherokee 4x4 systems feature the renowned Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control system, with four modes (Auto, Snow, Sport and Sand/Mud). The Trailhawk trim level will also offer a Rock mode to take on the toughest off-road adventures.
Rear axle disconnect: equipped on all 4x4 systems, this device results in reduced energy loss when 4x4 capability is not needed to the benefit of fuel efficiency. The rear-axle disconnect seamlessly switches between two and four-wheel drive for full-time torque management and does not require input from the driver.

User-friendly technology with fourth-generation UconnectTM systems
The new Jeep Cherokee also receives the latest UconnectTM systems, delivering communication, entertainment and navigation features and other innovations designed to enhance both the driving experience and onboard comfort.
Depending on the trim, Jeep Cherokee is equipped with UconnectTM 5.0-inch, UconnectTM 7.0-inch, UconnectTM 8.4-inch and UconnectTM 8.4-inch NAV systems, which include enhanced processing power, faster start-up times and touchscreens that display high-resolution graphics. The system allows the driver to control many onboard features, including climate and audio, directly through the UconnectTM display. Jeep Cherokee models equipped with the UconnectTM 7.0, 8.4 or 8.4 NAV systems feature high-definition, full-color capacitive touchscreens and include Apple CarPlay and Android AutoTM functionalities. UconnectTM 5.0-inch with Bluetooth and Voice Command is offered as standard on the Sport trim.
Functions of the new UconnectTM system also include hands-free calling, navigation and text-to-talk features for a safe, comfortable and connected everyday driving experience. Built-in radio options are also available to allow drivers and passengers to stream Internet radio through Bluetooth or plug-in compatible personal devices into USB or AUX ports.
UconnectTM navigation with turn-by-turn directions is standard on the UconnectTM 8.4-inch NAV and features a one-step voice entry system so Jeep customers can easily say the address and navigate on the go.
Jeep UconnectTM LIVE services available on UconnectTM 8.4-inch NAV
UconnectTM 8.4-inch NAV on the new Jeep Cherokee also offers UconnectTM LIVE services that allow customers to view and monitor a host of applications on the UconnectTM display simply by connecting their smartphone to the vehicle. The UconnectTM LIVE app can be downloaded from the App Store or from Google Play and installed on the smartphone.
Standard on the Cherokee's 8.4-inch NAV UconnectTM is the Connected Navigation (TomTom Live). Other Live services include infotainment: internet music and radio, news and information and navigation with live traffic information.
With UconnectTM LIVE and using the touchscreen, users can connect to Tune In Internet radio with more than 100,000 stations from all around the world, the Deezer music platform with more than 35 million tracks or the Reuters world news service.

An array of safety and security systems
Jeep Cherokee was engineered with a complete offering of safety and security features. The first noteworthy safety element is the Compact U.S. Wide (CUS-wide) platform, which provides a strong foundation and is constructed with 65 per cent high-strength steel. Engineers then added both active and passive safety and security features, including eight airbags, ParkView rear back-up camera with dynamic grid lines, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Roll Mitigation, Active Forward Collision Warning-Plus with Pedestrian Emergency Braking, Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, Advanced Brake Assist and Active Speed Limiter - all offered as standard on the entire European line-up. Additional safety features include ParkSense Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Stop & Go standard on Limited and Overland in Europe.

The ParkSense Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist feature remains a highlight of the new Jeep Cherokee. Using ultrasonic parking sensors on the bumper, the system will find and guide the vehicle into an available parking space when the driver initiates the parking maneuver. The parking guidance system controls the steering angle automatically and the driver controls the gear position, brake, and accelerator. Parallel parking is possible on either side of the car. During perpendicular parking, the vehicle is backed into the space. Additionally, a new side-distance warning feature now adds greater awareness to drivers of side objects while the vehicle is at low speed and in a parallel parking sequence.
Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Stop & Go is significant for its ability to bring the vehicle to a complete stop without driver intervention, in certain conditions. Radar and video sensors identify the locations of vehicles traveling ahead of the Jeep Cherokee. The sensors also help ensure the vehicles are separated by a gap determined by the driver. If the gap is dramatically breached, the ESC system can aggressively deploy the vehicle's brakes to affect a full stop, even if the driver never touches the brake pedal. To resume travel, the driver need only press a button on the steering wheel or tap the accelerator pedal.
Active Forward Collision Warning-Plus with Pedestrian Emergency Braking addresses traffic-gap changes when Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus is inactive. When radar and video sensors detect a fast-closing obstacle or a pedestrian ahead, the system pre-fills the brakes to prepare for emergency driver intervention. If collision risk remains, Forward Collision Warning-Plus correspondingly ratchets up the response with:
      • audible and visual warnings
      • a brief brake deployment to alert the driver
      • a 1.5-second brake deployment to quicken the driver's reaction time
      • deployment of Advanced Brake Assist, if the driver is not braking aggressively enough
LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus uses a camera-based vision sensor to establish the Jeep Cherokee's position on the road. If an unintentional lane drift occurs, determined by trajectory change and the absence of turn-signal activation, the system will deliver a visual warning and a haptic warning - the subtle introduction of torque from the electric power steering (EPS) system. If the driver unintentionally drifts too far, the system provides a secondary visual warning.

The new Jeep Cherokee has been designed to be driven with full peace of mind, using the most advanced technology to help keep occupants safe and secure at every turn.

      New Cherokee Range
In Europe, the new Cherokee line-up will offer four trim levels at launch - the Sport, Longitude, Limited and Overland. Jeep :00ae: Cherokee and FCA Bank: a whole range of finance solutions for a driving experience with 'full peace of mind'
Authenticity, adventure, freedom and passion are the values that the Jeep brand conveys to those who experience the emotion of driving a Jeep vehicle. In the new Jeep Cherokee these values are combined to high levels of comfort, capability, safety and state-of-the-art technology.
As financial partner, FCA Bank - the captive bank of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Crédit Agricole S.A. - offers new packages of finance structures and insurance services that have been specially designed to meet the needs of every category of Jeep customer. These solutions will allow more people to enjoy a carefree ownership experience both on and off-road.
New Cherokee customers are offered three main product types to choose from:
      • Leasing and PCP (Personal Contract Purchase): these are the most popular solutions. Customers can make an affordable monthly payment and, at the end of the contract, have the option of keeping the car, returning it or trading it in for a new model;
      • Advanced Payment Plan 50&50: Customers pay half of the price of the vehicle up front, make no monthly payments and, at the end of the one or two-year contract, can choose to keep the car, return it or trade it in for a new model;
      • Private Lease: this solution appeals to those who want a car without the constraints of ownership. A simple monthly payment covers the main insurance, maintenance and information services.
All FCA Bank solutions are available not only to private customers but also to companies and professionals. Customers are also offered competitively priced hire purchase and long-term rental packages, through Leasys, for a driving experience with full peace of mind.
In addition, FCA Bank offers a vast range of insurance products, all of which combined with financing contracts, including personal protection services such as 'Credit Protection Insurance' - a solution that guarantees payment of part of the financing in the case of unforeseeable contingencies such as a job loss - and vehicle protection services.
Thanks to the flexibility of the FCA Bank offering, everyone can enjoy a carefree access to the Jeep world.
The financing solutions described are available in most European markets where FCA Bank Group companies operate.
"Born to be wild" communication campaign - the 4x4 nature of each and every one of us evolves into comfort, safety and functionality, but only the Jeep brand guarantees adventure and freedom
The launch of the new Jeep Cherokee will be accompanied by a communication campaign based on the "Born to be wild" concept. The underlining message is that each and every one of us is born curious about the world, adventurous and unstoppable. In other words, we are all "born to be wild" and our 4x4 spirit is innate.
Inevitably, we grow up and run the risk of forgetting how we really are deep down. This is where the Jeep brand comes into play, with its off-road attitude and its capability to be perfectly at ease in the city, thanks to a range of SUVs offering comfort and functionality. Driving a Jeep vehicle conveys a sense of safety, freedom and adventure, the same experienced by young children.
Jeep brand equips us to remember our roots, as by the tag-off that reminds us that despite everything else "Our heart will be 4x4 forever."
The "Born to be Wild" concept is also explored in a high-impact press campaign in which the ridges of a fingerprint morph into elements of the natural world. This is how the close bond between the Jeep brand and its target audience is expresses: "We are all made of wild".

Wahl beim Overland!

Mein Cherokee: 2015er Cherokee Limited, granite-crystal, 170 PS Diesel, 9-Gang-Automatik, AD I, Navi-& Soundpaket, Fahrassistenz- und Winterpaket., Nappaleder in schwarz

    • Da muss ich dem Chief mal wider zustimmen. Ich kann mit meinem blauen auch gut leben.
